Free Fantasy Football Cheat Sheets
The plethora of fantasy football information sites is staggering for any fantasy football consumer. Many sites offer premium draft kits that center on Cheat Sheets. Most of these sites are great and are worth the money if you have the disposable cash, but in reality most fantasy football consumers don’t want to come out of pocket if they don’t have to. Luckily for you cheapos you can easily find a quality free fantasy football cheat sheet with just a little effort. With this blog we’ll look at a few options for the 2009 season.
KFFL.com - KFFL has been an industry leader for longer than I can remember. You could spend hours digging through all the free fantasy football information on this site. Here’s their Top 100 Cheat Sheet. Honestly, I think some of these rankings are a little whack. And by a little whack I mean way whack - I like taking risks but drafting Aaron Rodgers above Tom Brady is crazy. Jason Campbell as the 10th overall QB must be a misprint. Despite their description of player value, I also think it can be confusing for them to include a kicker and a defense in their top 100 fantasy football players. I would skip over the free KFFL cheat sheet this year.
Moving on, check out the free cheat sheet offered at WalterFootball.com. I love this site and I love this list. They take plenty of chances, but, unlike KFFL, they are all reasonable. Some examples are Knowshon Moreno at 13 overall, Pierre Thomas at 16, and Beanie Wells at 24. We saw last year that rookie RBs can dominate in fantasy. Moreno and Wells both enter situations where they will shine if they earn the carries. They are talented and their respective teams invested a lot in them, so don’t be surprised to see these guys leading teams to the playoffs. You can get them much cheaper than that, but these rankings may help give you the confidence you need to confidently grab them as your RB2 in the third or fourth rounds. As for Pierre Thomas - roster him. His stretch run proved that he has #1 fantasy RB upside. There’s lots of risk with Reggie Bush taking carries and the possibility of another RB signing, but these are the risks that keep him from being a first round choice. If you can grab him in the late second, early third, do no hesitate. Walter Football’s free top 150 cheat sheet is the best I’ve seen.
There are plenty of other free options besides the two mentioned above. Surprisingly, About.com’s football section has a strong Cheat Sheet offering. Their top 150 is also sortable by position. Aside from Brees going all the way up at 6 and Pierre Thomas falling all the way to 39, I also like this list. FFToolbox’s Fantasy Cheat Sheets are also worth checking out. They offer the only free sheets that let you sort their lists by custom scoring systems. Many consider FFToolbox to be the leader in fantasy football cheat sheets.
Between the four options I’ve talked about here the casual fan can get just about all the information they need. If you’d like to step it up and get more detailed information take a look at the premium services offered by sites such as RotoWorld and RotoWire. Good luck with your drafts!
